Mother of Beasts K9 Training

Reactive dog? Aggressive dog? "Nobody else could help" dog? That's exactly who I train. My team presently holds an internationally recognized obedience title, and I've spent years rehabbing tough cases for Southern California rescues. I also run a Bulletproof Puppy Program to build confidence early. I don't take your dog away and return a mystery — you learn exactly what I'm doing, together, for results that last.

About

Love your dog—but dread every walk, every visitor, or every unexpected dog around the corner? You've probably already tried the training videos, the "just be more confident" advice, maybe even another trainer who didn't get it. And your dog is still reacting. You're exhausted, a little embarrassed, and starting to wonder if this is just who your dog is now. It's not. Your dog isn't broken, and you're not failing at this. I'm Mary, Head Trainer at Mother of Beasts K9 Training. My dog and I presently hold an internationally recognized obedience title, and over more than 20 years, my dogs have earned top placements across six different competitive sports. I'm a Professional Member of the International Association of Canine Professionals — and just as importantly, I've spent years in the trenches rehabbing the toughest cases for a dozen-plus Southern California rescue organizations, the dogs other trainers wrote off as unfixable. One reactive rescue dog I worked with went from a case nobody wanted to take on to living successfully in a home with multiple other dogs. Here's what I do: • Reactivity & aggression rehabilitation — for the dogs other trainers won't take on • Fear-based behavior work — building trust and confidence, not just compliance. • Bulletproof Puppy Program — instilling sound structure from day one, so reactivity never gets the chance to take root. • Obedience training — the foundation everything else is built on. • Sports training — channeling drive and focus into disciplines my own dogs have competed and placed in. Here's what sets me apart: I don't take your dog away and return a mystery. Every session happens in your home, with you, so you're not left guessing what happened behind closed doors. You learn exactly what I'm doing and why, so the progress is real and it's yours — not something that quietly unravels the moment I'm not there. You love this dog. You just want to walk down the street without your stomach dropping every time another dog turns the corner. That's possible. Let's get you there.

Excellent for Behavior Modification

My 8 month old Mal- Viceroy (Vice for short) - started showing leash reactivity and we couldn’t figure out why. We were directed to MOB Training from a rescue group, and I’m so happy they did. Mary worked with us once a week for 6 weeks, and we followed her instructions to the tee every day. We took a few weeks off formal training and then brought Mary back home in to polish it off. We realize we were giving our pup way too much power in our home, learned to set boundaries, learned how to reverse some of the damage we caused (because we didn’t know what we were doing) and worked on Mary’s play therapy with Vice. Vice is really great now, but we are very careful about not reverting back to our bad human behavior. It was never his fault. Can’t say enough good things about Mary.
